ATLANTA, Ga. (April 8, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
Jordan Holman (Huntingdon) was named
Player of the Week, while
Kennedy Carruth (Belhaven) earned
Pitcher of the Week honors.
Hannah Barnett (LaGrange) was also tabbed
Rookie of the Week.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jordan Holman, Huntingdon

Holman, the senior shortstop for the Hawks, played a pivotal role in securing two wins against Covenant. Throughout the weekend, she maintained an impressive .625 batting average. In 12 at-bats, the Pennsylvania native contributed six runs and seven hits, which included two doubles and three home runs. She also finished with an impressive 12 RBIs, solidifying a successful weekend for the Hawks.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Kennedy Carruth, Belhaven

Carruth made one start and one relief appearance in a 2-0 week for the Blazers. The Louisiana native threw 7.0 innings with one win, and one save, allowing just three hits, zero runs and striking out 14 batters.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Hannah Barnett, LaGrange

Barnett batted .333 this week with a double, a stolen base, and four runs scored. The freshman infielder was perfect defensively with 0 errors in 11 put-outs and seven assists at second base.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
