Week 7: CCS Softball Players of the Week
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 23, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Mandi Peretti (Piedmont) was named Player of the Week, while Addison Gaines (Huntingdon) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
Anslee Saunchegraw (Piedmont) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mandi Peretti, Piedmont
Outfielder  |  Sophomore  |  Cumming, Ga.
 
Mandi Peretti delivered a dominant week at the plate, helping Piedmont to a perfect 4–0 record. The sophomore outfielder recorded multiple hits in all four games, finishing 9-for-13 (.692) with three extra-base hits, including a double and two triples. Peretti drove in five runs, scored six times, and added two stolen bases while posting a 1.077 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage, leading the Lions to an unbeaten week.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Addison Gaines, Huntingdon

Addison Gaines turned in a dominant performance in the circle, going 2–0 to help Huntingdon secure victories over Maryville and MUW. The sophomore logged 11.0 innings, allowing just one earned run on six hits while striking out 19 batters. Gaines finished the week with a 0.64 ERA and held opponents to a .154 batting average, including a complete-game shutout against MUW.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Anslee Saunchegraw, Piedmont

Freshman Anslee Saunchegraw continued her strong debut season, helping Piedmont to a 4–0 week with consistent offensive and defensive contributions. Saunchegraw hit .538 (7-for-13), recording three doubles and a home run while driving in five runs and scoring four times. She also contributed defensively with a perfect fielding percentage, tallying seven putouts and six assists. Saunchegraw highlighted the week with her team-leading seventh home run in the CCS opener at Asbury.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
