ATLANTA, Ga. (April 15, 2025) - Alyssa McSpadden (Piedmont) was Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Katherine Nova (Asbury) earned this week’s Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 
The duo, Dannie Evans and Abby Gayle Moody (Piedmont) was named Women’s Doubles Team of the Week.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Alyssa McSpadden, Piedmont

Alyssa McSpadden continued her stellar senior campaign by going unbeaten across singles and doubles action last week, helping lead Piedmont to a perfect 4-0 road swing. Playing in the No. 1 singles spot, McSpadden earned straight-set victories against Agnes Scott, Guilford, and Salem. She also paired with Sarah Sanabia and Mackenzie Long in No. 3 doubles to collect dominant 6-1 and 6-0 wins, respectively. The senior’s leadership helped the Lions secure wins over all four opponents, including a pair of 7-0 shutouts.
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Katherine Nova, Asbury

Katherine Nova continued her outstanding freshman campaign by remaining undefeated in No. 1 singles play, improving to 13-0 on the season. Nova delivered a straight-set victory over Lauren Carr of Covenant, 6-1, 6-3, to help lead Asbury to a 7-0 sweep on the road. She also teamed up with Martina Paillet at No. 1 doubles for a 6-3 win, securing another strong week at the top of the lineup for the Eagles. 
 

DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK – Dannie Evans & Abby Gayle Moody, Piedmont
Graduate Student/Sophomore | Atlanta, Ga./Macon, Ga.
 
Evans and Moody made the most of their pairing at No. 1 doubles, cruising to a 6-1 win over LaGrange’s top duo of Wiley and Fuller. Their dominant outing helped Piedmont secure the doubles point and contribute to a 6-1 team victory on the road.
