Week 14: CCS Men’s Basketball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (February 16, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its Men’s Basketball Players of the Week.
 
Devin Dowell (LaGrange) was named Player of the Week, while Lual Ayiei (Asbury) earned Rookie of the Week, released by the league office on Monday.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Devin Dowell, LaGrange

Devin Dowell powered LaGrange to a 2-1 week averaging 17.0 points per game while totaling 51 points across three contests, shooting 20-of-40 from the field and 9-of-20 from three-point range. The junior guard added six rebounds, six assists, and two steals during the stretch, while averaging 20 minutes per game.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK– Lual Ayiei, Asbury

Freshman center Lual Ayiei made a significant impact in Asbury’s lone game of the week, anchoring the paint in a pivotal conference win over Belhaven. The freshman center collected 11 points and pulled down 15 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field. He also altered the game defensively with five blocks, sealing a 93-63 win for the Eagles.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
