ATLANTA, Ga. (April 9, 2024) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its women’s track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Madison Stonestreet (Berea) was named this week’s Women’s
Track Athlete of the Week, alongside
Nakiyah Washington (Piedmont) who collected this week’s Women’s
Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Muhorakeye Joyeuse (Berea) was also tabbed
Track Rookie of the Week and
Ashyia Maddickes (Berea) earned
Field Rookie of the Week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Madison Stonestreet, Berea
Sophomore | West Milford, W.Va.
Stonestreet claimed a new program record with a time of 17:31.59 in the 5000m run at the Jim Vargo Invitational. The sophomore runner followed up that record breaking performance with a second place finish in the 1500 at the Landon Bond Classic (4:50.02). The West Virginia native currently ranks fifth in the Great Lakes region.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Nakiyah Washington, Piedmont
Senior | Adairsville, Ga.
Washington captured a fourth place finish in the shot put at the Lee University - Fast Break Invitational (11.79m). The Georgia native took eighth place in the discus throw at the invitational meet (35.95m). The senior thrower rounded out the two-day meet with a 20th place finish in the hammer throw (34.92m) and a 23rd place finish in the javelin throw (25.19m).
TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Muhorakeye Joyeuse, Berea
Freshman | Cincinnati, Ohio
Joyeuse excelled to a first place victory in the 800m run at the Landon Bond Classic (2:21.52). The Ohio native finished fifth in the 1500m run and anchored the Berea ‘B’ squad to a third place finish. Joyeuse currently leads the conference in the 800m run.
FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Ashyia Maddickes, Berea
Freshmen | Dayton, Ohio
Maddickes launched to a third place finish in the high jump at the Landon Bond Classic (1.50m). The Ohio native also claimed a sixth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.08m.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Berea College, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
