Week 10: CCS Softball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (April 13, 2026) – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its softball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Moira Tinsley (Asbury) was named Player of the Week, while Addison Gaines (Huntingdon) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
Anslee Saunchegraw (Piedmont) was also tabbed Rookie of the Week.

 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Moira Tinsley, Asbury

Moira Tinsley delivered a powerful performance at the plate, helping Asbury to a 2-2 week. The sophomore batted .462 (6-for-13) while posting an impressive 1.154 slugging percentage, highlighted by three home runs and six RBI. Tinsley’s standout moment came in a key conference win over Agnes Scott, where she launched two home runs to help secure the Eagles’ fifth CCS victory. She also scored five runs on the week and struck out just once, while maintaining a perfect fielding percentage defensively.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Addison Gaines, Huntingdon

Addison Gaines turned in a dominant performance in the circle, tossing a five-inning no-hitter to lead No. 11 Huntingdon to a 9-0 win over Covenant. The sophomore struck out 11 and allowed just one walk in the outing.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Anslee Saunchegraw, Piedmont

Anslee Saunchegraw continued her standout freshman campaign with an explosive offensive week for Piedmont. The freshman batted .692 (9-for-13), with a .714 on-base percentage and 1.154 slugging percentage, recording three doubles, a home run, and four RBI while scoring six runs. She also showcased her speed on the bases, going a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts.

ABOUT THE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE OF THE SOUTH (CCS)
The CCS is an NCAA Division III athletic conference that began play during the 2022-23 academic year. The conference features nine member institutions (Agnes Scott College, Asbury University, Belhaven University, Covenant College, Huntingdon College, LaGrange College, Maryville College, Piedmont University, and Wesleyan College) and sponsors championships across 14 sports. In addition to sharing the member institutions' geographic identity, the name 'Collegiate Conference of the South' is indicative of a shared commitment to academic excellence, which is commensurate with the NCAA Division III philosophy.
